Coaches and Staff 2015-2016

Head Coach – Gregg Marinari

Coach Marinari, in his first season with the Hoyas, brings over 10 years of head coaching experience.  Prior to joining Georgetown Prep, Coach Marinari served as the head coach of Drexel University’s ACHA Division 1 team for 10 seasons.  Under Gregg’s leadership, the Dragons won the ECHA title 3 times and appeared in the ACHA National Tournament twice.  Gregg was named the ECHA Coach of the Year on 2010.  He has also served as the head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers Quebec Peewee Team that competes at the World Peewee Championships in Quebec City.

Coach Marinari currently serves as Hockey Director for Team Maryland Tier 1 AAA Hockey Club. He is head coach of TM’s Peewee Major 2003 Team and responsible for all on ice programming and player development.

Coach Marinari has a long history of player development, having served on staff with the Atlantic District’s Player Development Program since 2001.  He has also worked at various USA Hockey’s National Player Development select camps and has served as Co-Head Coach of USA Hockey National Select Sled Hockey Camp since 2009.

Coach Marinari also serves in a number of administrative roles throughout hockey.  He currently serves as league commissioner of the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Association and volunteers as the commissioner of the Delaware Valley Sled Hockey League (DVSHL).  Coach Marinari has been on staff with the Atlantic District Coaching Education Program since 2001 and serves as the Atlantic District Coach in Chief of the Disabled Section and is a USA Hockey level 4 accredited coach.

Coach Marinari currently resides in Rockville, MD with his wife Emi.

Assistant Coach – Peter Perrella

A Native of Vancouver, Canada, Coach Perrella started skating at the age of 3.  He moved to the Washington, D.C., area and played for the Washington Little Caps and Team Maryland.  He played junior hockey for the Frederick Freeze, finishing top 3 in the league in points, earning an all-star game appearance, and winning the leagues fastest skater award.  Coach Perrella went on to play hockey at the University of Maryland while earning his degree in Exercise Science.  He is currently in his fourth season as a coach for Team Maryland.
