The Hoyas hit the ice for the IAC Playoffs after a tough end to the regular season which saw them fall 5-2 to O’Connell. The second half of the season was a rough stretch for the Hoyas as they have not had a full roster at all this season. In the semi-finals against St. Albans the Hoyas put all the adversity behind them and shutout a young but talented St. Albans team. Midway through the first, Davidson opened up the scoring with an assist by Scola. Late in the first, Cole added to the lead with a goal of his own assisted by Flannery and Prame. The Hoyas carried this momentum into the second as Davidson found the back of the net again, assisted by Scola and Chaconas. The Hoyas special teams unit would then go to work with 2 straight power play goals, both by Flannery (the first assisted by Cole and Fitzgerald & the second by Fitzgerald). The Hoyas would continue their second period dominance with a goal by Cole assisted by Fitzgerald. Davidson would complete his hat trick in dramatic fashion with a power play goal assisted by Fitzgerald with 2 seconds left in the second period. Will Boggs posted his third shutout of the year with two of the three coming against St. Albans. The Hoyas move on to the IAC Championship for the second year in a row and will have a rematch against Landon on Thursday at 4:00 in Rockville. Hoya Saxa!
