2/17/10 – High Drama as Prep Pulls out 3-2 Victory over St. Albans  – Washington Post Story Here

Despite putting 46 shots (22 in 3rd Period) on goal, Prep trailed 2-0 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd period.  It looked like an upset and the crowd was heading for the parking lot when Coach O’Leary pulled goalie PJ McNamara for a last rush… A shot, blocked, long rebound and GOAL from Patrick Hall… Prep breathes new life!  20 seconds later it’s deja vu as another long rebound lands on Hall’s stick for a tying goal.  Prep is clearly playing for OT with seconds left, but an interception puts the puck on Taylor Morgan’s stick.  He drives.  He fakes a shot and lays it up for AJ Taylor who puts it in for the go-ahead goal.  Time remaining 0:00:8 – eight tenths of a second.  Will there be anything in the tank for tomorrow’s IAC Championship game against perennial rival Landon?

12-29-09 – Prep Grinds to 2-2 Tie with Garden Valley (Manitoba, CAN) at Purple Puck Contest

Prep had the honor of playing the Purple Puck’s inaugural contest with a Canadian team.  The Green Valley Collegiate Zodiacs (Manitoba, CAN) skated to a 1-0 lead in the first period.

During the 2nd period, Prep scored two goals, both by Devin Drewyer, and allowed only one score.  With 2 minutes remaining in the 2nd half, the score was tied 2-2.  The prep defense attempted to push a puck out of the crease by hand and was called for covering the puck, resulting in the award of a penalty shot, which was stopped by PJ McNamara, preserving the tie.  See the save here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WG66KG3ZQ2A) – fast forward to :30 to skip the lengthy prelude.
